Apply today for the opportunity to participate in York University’s free four-week intensive business training program, offered with the support of our local university partners UNA, UISIL, ULatina and Yo Emprendedor.

Program Details

The program will take place within San Isidro at various locations throughout the city provided by our local University partners

Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, from March 17 to April 11, 2025.

What’s Included

  • Mentoring from world-renowned entrepreneurship experts;
  • An official York University Certificate upon successful completion of the program.
  • Associated worksheets, notebooks, and other training materials;
  • A small amount of funding at each stage of the process to build and test their prototypes (preliminary business ideas).
  • Lunch daily on site;
  • A trip to San Jose to research and source innovative products and services
  • Social media training and opportunity to build or expand your own network;
  • A chance to compete for a start-up grant of up to USD $2,000

Who is this for

  • 18 -30 years old (exceptional candidates outside this age range may be considered)
  • Do NOT currently operate your own business
  • High school diploma

FAQ

Is there a cost to participate in the program?

No! The program is free of charge. Transportation assistance may be provided where needed.

We will select 20 participants through a competitive application process.

Of course! You’re exactly the type of person we’re looking for. We will help you to learn a process that can help you to identify a viable business idea.

Yes, but the program does require that you are in San Isidro for the duration of the four-week program, and we are not able to cover the cost of transportation to San Isidro or accommodation while you’re here.

Please only apply if you’re able to commit to the full program duration, which is Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, March 17 to April 11.

Yes, anyone between the age of 18 and 30 who can commit to the entire program is welcome to apply. Exceptional candidates outside this age range will also be considered.

No – it is not necessary. All instruction will be offered in Spanish

The program is not intended for individuals who are already operating a business. However, if you are interested in developing a new business that is substantially different from your existing business, you are welcome to apply.

Lunch is included every day that the program runs.

All participants will be provided with a small amount of start-up capital that will be sufficient to build and test their prototype (preliminary business ideas) . The program will culminate in an opportunity for all participants to present their business idea to a panel of judges, and 5 participants will receive a start-up grant of up to USD$2,000 to develop their idea further.

In addition to receiving these funds, the winning participants will receive further consulting services and mentorship from both local and international business experts.
